Where lean men actually land
A trained 6-foot man carrying visible muscle typically sits at 175–195 lbs at a healthy body-fat percentage — BMI may flag this as "overweight" even though body composition is excellent.
Use waist-to-height ratio as the tiebreaker: waist under 36 inches means the extra weight is muscle, not risk.
Frame size fine-tuning
Small-framed men trend toward 150–170 lbs. Large-framed men can healthily sit near the top of the BMI range at 180–195 lbs.
